Framer in SE London, by lardy on Jun 25, 2007 14:31:50 GMT 1, Can anyone recomend a good framer in SE London?
Ive been getting my stuff done at a local gallery / framer but picked up a couple of bits at the weekend to find that one of them (took off the wrapping when I got home) was creased. Bit hacked off, the print was not expensive but cost £70 to frame and the bloke has blatently creased across the whole of the print.
Going back at the weekend to get the print redone / fixed but dont want to trust any of the nicer bits to him.
So, any recomendations?

Framer in SE London, by slowmo on Jun 25, 2007 14:54:14 GMT 1, I'm based in SE London, currently between framers. Which one did you have the bad experience with, just so I know!

Framer in SE London, by pezlow on Jun 25, 2007 15:01:05 GMT 1, I use a bloke in Peckham. Good but very very slow. So slow in fact that I am thinking of changing. Don't go to Great Expectations in Camberwell.

Framer in SE London, by a4mnt on Jun 25, 2007 15:09:17 GMT 1, I live in Brixton, so edges of SE and SW. I use a guy called LL frames on 07870 318127.
He's handy if you know what you want as he comes to your home (or he does to Brixton Hill from Croydon...coming tonight actually!) and also delivers back to you.
Thats not so handy if you want to see hundreds of different frame styles.
His prices are really good for the service and he's been doing it 18 years. Otherwise there is Brockwell Arts on 0207 274 7046, who are based in Tulse Hill, SE24. They are at least twice the price of LL Frames but have a proper shop.

Framer in SE London, by slowmo on Jun 25, 2007 15:30:02 GMT 1, I put Judgement day in a framers at the end of Feb, he really didn't want to do it. Anyway I got it back on Saturday! Bloody nice job though and £140 using some imported Dutch style frame. He wouldn't take anymore wokr from me though, so I am trying a new guy, getting my barcode reframed and Arofish done. Should be two weeks. Will report back if he's good

Framer in SE London, by lardy on Jun 25, 2007 15:41:09 GMT 1, This was the 1st time theyve ballsed something up, but it was stark gallery on Lee high Road SE12. The normal framer has been training up an apprentice, I think the apprentice may have been let loose on the print in question. Previously Ive always stressed I want the experienced guy to do it.
Ive got my arofish in there at the mo. I'll be in to collect that before they can work on it.
There is a place in greenwich which always seems to have decent framing on there prints, Im going in at the weekend.

Framer in SE London, by John on Jun 26, 2007 18:29:47 GMT 1, Frameland (i think thats what its called) on Brick lane is great. The blokes in there are REALLY decent. Love a bit of haggling and always make a good job, and are always happy to fix any issues / problems.
Highly reccomended.
I pay £40-£50 for decent frames.. err like this (in the background behind me eating a doughnut):

Framer in SE London, by paul1066 on Jun 27, 2007 10:35:25 GMT 1, I have mentioned them before, I have used Arterie in East Dulwich for a couple of things, and have been happy with what they have done for me! Maybe not the quickest or cheapest, but certainly quality work.
Arterie, The, 37 North Cross Road, tel 020 8299 3970
