Norway, by Mrs Mouse on Jun 18, 2007 20:32:33 GMT 1, Don't know if this thread is in the right place, but anyway - my daughter + friend are going to Norway next month. They got return flights for 2p including surcharge and taxes!
All I know about Norway is .............fjords and um...........fjords.
Can you suggest anything worth doing/seeing. They would like to visit a few galleries and see the sights, or whatever there is to see in Norway.
Thanks you guys! ;D

Mrs Mouse,
How long have your daughter and her friend got in Norway? Where exactly in Norway? They should definitely get a guide book, but here are some random tips:
If in Oslo, I would highly recommend the Munch Museum. The Vigeland sculpture park is also brilliant, in a semi-fascistic kind of way.
If they have time, Bergen is a beautiful town worth visiting. Great little music scene as well (e.g. Kings of Convenience, Röyksopp, random death metal bands). No one from Bergen comes from Norway; they just come from Bergen.
Nu/nuart/numusic is based in Stavanger on the southwest coast. He's actually organising an art and music festival there in September.
I once travelled by boat along the coast up to Narvik, though I regret not yet making it to the university town Tromsø.
Each time I've been to Norway, it's been great. Alcohol is rather expensive though. At bars and clubs, people also tend to crash drunkenly into you without saying sorry. One should not take it personally; that is just the way things are.
