Anyone going to the O2 festival tomorrow?, by stylus on Jun 15, 2007 15:47:06 GMT 1, I'm planning on going, although I don't have a ticket. Hopefully I'll either be able to pick one up on the door, or from a tout.... I don't think it's sold out, is it?

Anyone going to the O2 festival tomorrow?, by teatwosugars on Jun 15, 2007 17:31:02 GMT 1, Glad to see there's a few going.
I'm heading down there early. There's about 20 of us going so it should be an absolute blinder!
Looking forward to LCD as they're superb. Daft Punk are great but I'm not as keen on some of their most recent stuff. However, if they play anything from Homework I'll go f*ckin mental!!!! ;D
Fingers crossed for the sunshine (not optimistic though)!

Anyone going to the O2 festival tomorrow?, by Curley on Jun 18, 2007 10:02:19 GMT 1, i have to say i was not that impressed by Daft Punk. Yes they were good but..... Take away the light show and IMO it was quite ordinary. i have seen plenty DJ's that could have got the same reaction.
LCD on the other hand are the real deal. ;D ;D
Bring on Glasters... ;D

Anyone going to the O2 festival tomorrow?, by a4mnt on Jun 18, 2007 10:50:35 GMT 1,
I wasn't expecting DP to be that great, but I was really impressed. No point talking about taking the lights away, its all part of the show so as far as i'm concerned its all regarded as a whole. They may not have that much personal presence, as after all its just two blokes twiddling knobs behind a synth, but then nor did Orbital or similar bands, but I thought the DP show as a whole was brilliant. After all, they would have had control over the whole stage show and the robot outfits etc, so I think credit where credit is due.
Admittedly I had drunk a whole lot of cider by the time they came on, but when the bass kicked in for the first time, it was pretty damn good! And the crowd went beserk, which made it all the better.
LCD are brilliant, no doubt. I watched them on TV later and didn't realise how much time James the lead singer spent getting his monitors balanced while he was on stage. I thought they were jamming at the end of Yeah yeah, until I realised he'd just walked off stage and that was it. 40 mins or whatever they played for is nowhere near long enough.
CSS were pretty good, the lead singer is pretty funky, but I thought New Young Pony Club were far better. No idea why Plan B were between them.
Caught a bit of Shy Child in the XFM stage and they were really cranking the crowd up, very impressed. Missed Digitalism which I'm a bit gutted about.
Anyone see them or the Klaxons? Any good??
All in, wicked day. Easy to get to (for us Londoners) and easy to get down the front for all but the last 2 bands. Not too much rain and no mud. ;D
