I recently bought a print on e-bay and the print has arrived damaged. The print was purchased from an individual etc..
You will never believe how this print was packed 
anyway I had requested that the seller send it by next day guaranteed delivery but they still sent it by parcelforce.
What I want to know is where do i go from here? The payment was made with a credit card via paypal and it has cleared I think?
I sense that I am going to have trouble etc....
Anybody any advice...it would be much appreciated.....

E-BAY damaged print?, by jam on Jun 16, 2007 9:06:44 GMT 1, I am sorry to hear about the bad luck. I would take photos of the packing and damage in case you need to present it in the future. Keep all materials as well.
1st- report this to ebay as merchandise received is different than described.
2nd- report to paypal and list the same reason.
3rd- Contact your credit card company and make them aware of the issue, and let then know you would like to contest the charges.

trick is to act fast, there are certain deadlines for taking action, but if you report asap and contact all parties i,e. paypal ebay etc then i cant see you would have a problem getting your money back! go on tell us...how was it packages, in a jiffy bag!!!?

I opened the tube and nearly died
I will post some pictures!!!!!
The print is not that bad but it has moved around in the tube and been dinked.....on the top and bottom...
If it was framed you woudn't see them
but I paid a lot of money etc.....
Gutted...

Yeah i would try and get your money back otherwise i dont think you will ever be happy and wont be able to enjoy it the same as if it were in mint condition! - like painting a ceiling and missing a tiny bit! soooo anoying!

If you did then you are actually signing to say you have received the item in good condition. Madness I know but Its happened to me and the seller couldn't claim via postal insurance becuase I had signed for it. I would go down the credit card route.

I don't think he can ABC because he paid using the credit card through paypal which I'm told exempts the credit card of responsibility. Although in truth this may depend on the small print on each and every credit card so you should still check with the credit card company to see if they will honour the payment..
Fcuking middle men (paypal,visa,postoffice). Buy locally and then meet the person yourself in a bank, thats what i say. Its not worth the sodding grief otherwise.

wishful thinking I know! But I would start conversations first before filing disputes with ebay and paypal.
I bought a print that got damaged in the post and thought 'here we go' and the seller was brilliant - just took it back no problem - even paypalled me the money back and some extra for postage before he even got it back.
There are some nice people out there!

It's just a lot of money etc.... thing is with paypal they are fking awful at the best of times. Hopefully things will be sorted no problems but I'm dealing with someone who sends prints covered in carrier bags
