- karma, by dave313perry on Jun 11, 2007 21:28:10 GMT 1, WOW!!! it seems there is too much over analytical convo on here! it seems every few days a new thread or surge on a previous thread happens and peoples frustrations get talked over and over again! IMO the respect system is great, if you contribute enough and get to know people on here as you would in any of lifes situations then you can get on with everone, voice your opinions without losing respect! Correct me if im wrong but you have to gain respect! stop whining!!!! i mean this in the nicest possible way but there are always lovers and haters and if your a good guy/girl your respect will eventually reflect that.
Maybe im naieve and there are repect devils and if you piss the wrong person off you get targetted and your respect is hounded (he says as people are franticly slapping the respect points off this 313perry!!!)
i also understand the awkwardness of joining what seems like an already tight knit community but get those first few posts over with, spread your knowledge, meaning give as well as seek help, and dont just use it as your private ebay!!! There are many advantages of this forum and many great people to enlighten you to all aspects of the art world so dont be shy come on down and before you know it you can sit proud with your Macdonalds stars and give advice to newbies!

I've been on forums before and there have always been public fall outs, I'm amazed that a common interest/love/obsession in an artist and art in general allows for so many people of all ages, backgrounds & continents to just get on and stand up for one another, tracking down art,good deals and bad deals.
On the whole, you all, we all should be pretty proud of the forum we all help build. New and old. ;D ;D ;D

ok. can i ask, do you have dyslexia? because its quite easy to say that if you dont have it. i can spell things a millions times right but then i when actually using it i will spell it wrong. thats not my main problem though, i misunderstand the way things are written, i see things that arnt there and i miss words out which are in a setence which completely changes the meaning. however many times i read it, i still miss it out or whatever.
i appreciate your opinion and im not disregarding it, but just bear in mind that everyone is different. and the thing you said that people who have dyslexia use it as an excuse to be lazy, yeah some people probably do but i sure dont, and all the other people with it dont either. we have to work harder than others. i know quite a lot dyslexics because i go to learning support to try and help overcome the difficulties of dyslexia.
maybe now you can understand why i reacted the way i did. i know you didnt personally call me lazy or whatever but lots of people just joke about it and say that dyslexia is just an excuse for stupid people and people who cant be bothered to learn to spell. and that certainally isnt true.
so sorry but i hope you can understand it from my point of view.
