Framing Prints that are square / large..., by jboy on Jun 10, 2007 1:03:25 GMT 1, Some of you may be interested to know about some good frames you can get now at ikea at a really silly price.
Today i spotted a black thick rimmed frame (50x50 - perfect for AMP) with a mount for only £13. There is a thick rimmed frame which holds a 30x30 piece with a mount for £14. There are Big frames which are also thick rimmed which can old 100x70 flush mounted or 50x70 with mount and these are £19 (they have perspex instead of glass for safety)
All of these are guaranteed acid free as well.
So if you ever need a frame - check out ikea before habitat if there is one nearby as a 50x50 frame at habitat will set you back £20 odd quid.
A few examples of these frames can be seen on my peoples gallery thread. Ive just framed up my Jamie Reid lies print in the 30x30 mount and it looks awesome. Most of them are available in black / white / birch.

There's nowt wrong with perspex from a conservation point of view. In fact many museums and galleries are now using perspex to frame most things. John Jones uses it a lot and if it is good enough for them....

Framing Prints that are square / large..., by corblimeylimey on Jun 11, 2007 16:02:06 GMT 1, Perspex can scratch easier, although I'm sure there's different grades/quality and still don't have the print in direct contact with it in case any moisture gets in and then the pint will stick to the perspex and rip or pull away the image off the paper.

Blimey corblimeylimey, where do you put your prints up? In the bathroom?
