list of stolen prints, by andrewd on Jun 5, 2007 19:12:44 GMT 1, Somewhere on these boards is a video of AK47 and his ransom demand ( far too long to watch it all ) Seem to remember that there were suggestions as to who AK47 was as the distinctive wallpaper in the video matched that in a get your Banksys out for the lads post! Hope it hasn't been melted down for scrap! As for Art Republic I hope but doubt they will get their stuff back, AR have stocked Banksy for ages and always sold at reasonable prices.

list of stolen prints, by andrewd on Jun 5, 2007 23:10:25 GMT 1, Well that suggests that the sculpture was in the hands of a collector and not AK47. It is a rather large piece. I climbed on top of it once to see what it was made of. This was when it was parked below the A40 in Paddington ( presumably just before it went to Shafestsbury Ave and got nicked. ) It really would take serious lifting equipment to take it out of a back garden.

list of stolen prints, by w1lko on Jun 5, 2007 23:32:30 GMT 1, yeah i was a little surprised to read the bbc story, as i got sent an email yesterday afternoon - before the story broke on bbc/the daily mail - saying it was in this guy andy links house when it got stolen. no idea whose version of the story is true, or indeed if this isnt just some daft publicity stunt?!? i always like the drinker though, so it's a shame it's gone missing

blog on myspace from the idiot AK-47 GRASS UP THE ROBBERS AND CLAIM!!
Last weekend, during a scheduled ArtKieda field recon, the AK-47 compound was breached and The Drinker was removed by several thieves, as yet unidentified.
This removal of property was committed while AK-47 himself was attending vital conferences outside the city, giving rise to speculation that there must have been some form of coordinated attempt to deprive ArtKieda of the piece.
As yet, none of the suspects have been named, however ArtKieda have launched their own investigation, and have obtained numerous witness testimonies and other evidence.
Whilst no other details are available, AK-47 released this brief comment ; "It's not OUR publicity stunt"
There are those amongst you who may consider this theft as somewhat ironic, even humorous. Make no mistake, this is a very different situation to the ArtKieda kidnap of the first public sculpture by Robert M Banks. The Drinker was then, by its nature, philosophically and legally 'litter'. As such the transfer of ownership is without question, due to the official procedures insisted on by the Metropolitan Police in relation to 'lost and found' property. The piece today, is not litter. It is a privately owned item, displayed, until last weekend, on private property.
In effect, the thieves have endorsed ArtKieda’s controversial ownership of this piece, with their own highly illegal actions.
Estimates as to the worth of the piece range from £80,000 to £250,000
If you know of anyone hiding a large copy of Rodan : The Thinker, under their bed, or in their garden pond, you can find out how to CLAIM YOUR REWARD by following the link or click here : www.artkieda.com
PLEASE NOTE: ArtKieda do not accept any responsibility for any rumours, idle gossip or chit-chat, that may or may not indicate any involvement in this crime by the original artist Banksy.

list of stolen prints, by ThursdayFeeling on Jun 6, 2007 10:26:25 GMT 1, Silky,
Any chance you can set up a separate hotboard so that stolen prints and numbers can be listed. Also with and ability to update and comment on.
Surely this would help future buyers.
Only thing is this could have scope for abuse
Any thoughts ?
