FLORIDA, by tadghostal on Jun 4, 2007 22:56:27 GMT 1, If you consider denture-proof buffet food as "art," then you might want to hit up the King's Table Buffet in Port Richie. ;D
Just kidding. But it is Florida. God bless that state.

hahaha!!!!! New Port Richey should be avoided at all cost. Its a real life Jerry Springer show. You are absolutely right about the old people, they're everywhere.
Miami is great! Orlando, Jacksonville, and Tampa all have half way decent nightlife. Miami is definitely the hotspot in Florida. It can get pretty expensive and you might want to learn some spanish before going but its a great city. Beautiful people everywhere and lots to do. South Beach is quite an adventure.

FLORIDA, by tadghostal on Jun 5, 2007 0:22:59 GMT 1, Hey Bill!
I was wondering if you'd jump on this thread; glad you did.
lastpost, I've only been to Florida twice--but both times it was worth the trip--particularly if you're looking for some nice warm weather and great beaches. Mostly its fun to use a little hyperbole and tease our friends in Florida about their geriatric population, and gator huntin' red-necks. In fact, in the states there is a syndicated radio show that regularly does a very funny segment called "Florida or Germany?" where they read current news stories and callers try to identify where the story originates. For some reason, there is some bat-s**t crazy stuff that happens in both those places.
But don't let that deter you. I'm sure you and your gal will have a blast. And regarding the galleries, I'd bet (pure speculation here) that Miami is your best bet for art. Seems to be a big money town with a large seasonal population--its the sunny "back-yard" for a lot of east coast society. Not that it means much, but $$, sunshine and a party reputation makes me suspect you'll find something worthwhile.
Bill, can you recommend any particular galleries for our friend?

FLORIDA, by gbh on Jun 5, 2007 0:33:27 GMT 1, I used to live in Orlando. Florida is a fun place for a visit..you guy will have a great time.
Yes, doubt you'll see much art outside of Miami. Tyr to get down to the keys for a drive, fun part of the world..especially if you make it to the end.
