Bored, by ABC on May 18, 2007 20:55:44 GMT 1, bagger: term used by banksy fans who gave up after 15 minutes of server problems to describe those who managed to purchase one after ten grueling hours of waiting patiently by the computer. also see: "crybaby" that's worth at least 10 negatives ;D P.S. I'll be crying when i miss out on the next one too
The thing is early last year only a few prints would be on ebay because the prints were purchased by true collectors, then came.... well how do I put it.. the Baggers. IMO it all started after the LA show. The last prints to sell out from POW were TM and Love Rat around June/July time. There were no bun fights just fans buying when they wanted. The forum was only a thousand strong If I remember. That all changed on release of Grannies however there was a new type of fan, the ones that knew an easy buck could be made. IMO Grannies is where the Bagger game began and it has got worse ever since. I love Banksys work but I have now found other avenues and artists to collect now to avoid disappointment to missing out to the scalpers/baggers/flippers when they are released.
I would be interested to see how many members started collecting Banksys work after the LA show, that would show how influential the PR from the show was, Im not saying your all buying to sell but from the amount offloading Morons on here over the past few weeks I can safely say there are a few..

Bored, by Daniel Silk on May 18, 2007 21:00:02 GMT 1, Well even though there are 30+ members online around about now, bugger all seems to be going on so in a moment of mindless boredom i did a survey of members online and have found a shocking truth.... 5 out of 10 Banksy.info members are lurkers!! One has even been a member since Oct06 and not posted a thing, what does this all mean (apart from i have a sad fixation for statistics and will never leave home), well nothing really... Discuss baggers maybe?
Banksy maybe? ;D

I think it's not quite so B&W... For example I've been aware of Banksy and street art since around 2002 when I've got my camera and was walking around London and would take a pics of tags and stencils. Loved it from the first sight. NEVER, NEVER even thought that there are some prints not even originals apart from those on the Walls-why should it? Anyway then came Wall and Piece-still nothing... Then I came a cross Banksy on Ebay...And it was like: What the Fuck!!! So I found out about POW, tried to buy Grannies and Applause, Morons-unsuccessfully So I ask: if I now buy Trolleys and I would sell it /because the one print I want is Laugh Now and I just don't have money for it/ so I can get some funding toward this one print, does it make me bagger? If it does and someone /true fan/ reports me to POW I say: I don't give a fuck because that's the only way how to get onto Banksy Ladder these days! And I know I am not the only one

One thing that has shocked me a bit over the last couple of years is how bad some Artists and Galleries are at PR Some seem to think they can just make the stuff and people will appear out of thin air and buy it The Artists that really make it are the ones that know how to create publicity and how to communicate with the public ;D

motor total respect for putting into words somewhat more eleqantly than i could ever hope too my feelings:)
I've bored my mates and family for years regarding Banksy's street work, pointing out pieces etc etc and also never thought that his work would be seen 'indoors'...when i finally realised only a couple of months ago i felt like i've completely missed the boat and like my love is no longer valid because i didn't think to buy anything years ago
there's isn't a straight line to judge why ppl may buy/ sell, for myself it all comes down to what i can afford and what i really want if something else comes along tht my wallet/ccards can't handle it by themselves ..i'm totally gutted that too even buy an unsigned your looking at the very least 500 quid...
