Cost of making prints?, by corblimeylimey on May 7, 2007 16:09:34 GMT 1, Nice, although that's at least 8 colours. The cost will depend on the paper, size, and how many colours. I don't deal with any screen printers but before you talk to any make sure you know the size, paper weight, colours etc before you try to get a quote, also how is the artwork going to translate into screens, how much work can you do yourself? is it computer ready to output to film or will you be supplying hand cut masks? this will obviously affect the price.
UPDATE
I see you've taken down the image you just posted, at least you know what I'm talking about.

Cost of making prints?, by speebe on May 7, 2007 21:17:38 GMT 1, G.... Best way to do this is sign yourself up to a weekend college course in fine print or screen printing studio and take advantage of the facilities while cutting your teeth and learning without the fear of making costly mistakes.
They have all the screens, litho and etching equipment you need, you'll only need to source and supply your own paper and perhaps time to develop a stamp to embosss them, although this can be achieved by rolling a deeply acid etched piece of steel plate along with your paper through a press... emboss the blank sheets then start the screen printing process.
I can recomend a course too!

Cost of making prints?, by neutral on May 8, 2007 9:05:24 GMT 1, If you are part of this : www.londonprintstudio.org.uk/index.html The printing process is not expensive together with the material. For about 10 sheet of top range 300gsm paper as well as all screens and material for coating them.... It will probably cost you about ยฃ50 for a 4 color process and 2 sessions of 3 hours ( one to prepare ur screens and the other for printing) I will recomment 2 sessions for printing if you never done it tho. I have been using the studio for almost 2 years now and it is a good alternative instead of seting up ur own. I also can provide you details on that if you wish.
