For some reason the link doesn't work - click on the Guardian homepage and search Banksy. It's the first article that comes up.
Looks like we may have a Guardian journalist amongst us and one that's into flipping. Would Amy Oliver please step forward.

Roll on the next POW Banksy release - even more madness to come!

A Flippin Bargain, by mcnuts on Apr 27, 2007 10:33:33 GMT 1, "Recently I sat for two frustrating hours furiously refreshing the Pictures On Walls website as I tried to purchase a limited-edition print by graffiti artist Banksy. It took an hour for all three versions of the work, Morons, to sell out. Once again, the flippers have made a killing. The sepia edition of the print, which retailed for £600, has fetched up to £3,000 on eBay"
sorta like an ad, isnt it

A Flippin Bargain, by Strange Al on Apr 27, 2007 10:44:27 GMT 1, Absolutely like an ad. Not the first time the phenomenon has been mentioned in the press in relation to Banksy, but first time I've seen a broadsheet paper positively encourage the practice.
Agree, a similar article in the sun and we're all scr**ed on the next release.
Also, interesting to note the factual accuracy of the Guardian article. Papers reporting the the facts is indeed a rare occurrence -whether they be left wing, right wing, broad sheet or tabloid. Highlights how it's always best to get your news from as many sources as possible.

A Flippin Bargain, by mcnuts on Apr 27, 2007 11:00:00 GMT 1, in all honesty it just makes me think i'll never get my hands on a signed Banksy...the secondary market is wayyyy out of my league price wise (I love the discussions on here about 3k plus for a signed - just makes me cough up my tea and move on)...and i'd get the sack if i sit F5'ing for an hour oh well...at least there's plenty of of decent prints out there from an upcoming ppl to keep me happy
ya. i understand not being able to F5 at work. Being a student, i'm able to "take time off of work". Perhaps if you get the email before they go on sale you can take the afternoon off sick. Or, go for a "late lunch" to an internet cafe

I thought the same way about unsigned too... but you know what, there are gonna be 3 more chances with the remaining LA releases. Who knows? And c'mon, I'm sure you cut classes here and there every now and then, so what's one day when you can get a signed Banksy out of it
During the whole Morons bunfight, I got a buddy to record the lecture for me. It's possible... with a little help from your friends

A Flippin Bargain, by smashedhat on Apr 27, 2007 21:15:04 GMT 1, It's sad really, my opinion is that if some idiot wants to buy an Asda bag for 30xretail then more fool them.
But I'm sure that most Banksy flippers feel exactly the same as they have as little respect for us as I do for the type of person who'd buy a £150 carrier bag

what's makes matters worse is that my essay is being marked by one of the biggest authorities in the field of studying horror movies in the social sciences and cultural theory so uh yeah fun
anyway im off to contemplate split subjectivities, repressed sexual desires and moves to reproductive sexuality - yeah sounds just like what you think of you hear the word 'HORROR'
