More Banksy Prints, by dkla on Apr 14, 2007 23:46:01 GMT 1, Something rather saddening just occurred to me: the idea that, given Banksy gives away high-res files of certain images in his shop for free, that we'll never see official print releases of those same images (e.g., pieface or sunflowers). The reason being that now that everybody has high-res files of those images, it would be too easy to make copies. This notion is a bummer to me, as I really love some of those "newer" images (again, a la pieface or bombed village, etc.). Wondering if this occurred to other forum members as well or if this simply is a load of bullocks.

More Banksy Prints, by corblimeylimey on Apr 17, 2007 20:06:58 GMT 1, His prints have always been screen prints with only 1 or 2 colours, sometimes up to 4 or 5 colours, but the art you're talking about would have to be printed by litho or giclee, there's only been one litho print (well, poster actually) so far. The 'High res' files that are given out on the website aren't good enough to make them the standard size of prints (700cm X 500cm) in fact they'll only stretch to slightly bigger than A3 in size.
