Real Piece of Banksy, by mido on Jan 13, 2007 22:57:34 GMT 1, unfortunately it does have a sort of provenance, albeit a VERY dirty provenance. But thankfully it will ultimately never have REAL provenance (e.g. from banksy or laz)
It was angle grinded out of a wall. On a private road (yes, it is actually a listed private road). The resident's actually liked it and had left it there for years (even though it was a 'posh' area) and are very annoyed at it going. It now has a piece of wood covering up the hole in the wall. which obviously lookes crap.
I guess the only thing we can do is:
1) not buy it
2) send the seller enough messages to let him/her know what we think
3) hope that no-one else (e.g. privately) is stupid / immoral enough to buy it off ebay

also banksy has only been doing big stuff for the last year or so
and Banksy does say that thet street work is still the best side of it, so all in all I reckon he'll be back!!!
