No-bomb.com, by 7eny on Feb 23, 2007 21:07:16 GMT 1, I wish I'd know about this earlier but it also makes me wonder if this is going to influence some of Hewlett and Kennards future works?

There we are crushing other nations for their capability to manufacture so called "weapons of mass destruction" and our own government is spending billions of pounds doing exactly the same thing?

I've always wondered about that. It's okay for the "good" guys to have weapons, but not for the "bad" guys, of course... but isn't everything subjective, i.e., "good" vs "bad"? It's like the argument about the right to own weapons in the US... proponents claim that they should be able to have guns to protect themselves. But if gun possession was outlawed, nobody would own guns, then what would there be to protect each other from? Same line of reasoning: If the "good guy" countries continue to flex their missile muscles, the "bad guys" will always have a reason to feel threatened, and weapon development will never cease.
But what's the use, they're never gonna listen to us "common folk" anyway... since y'know, they know what's the best for all of us and stuff.
