I am greatfull to have found this community because it probably saved my life....

As a few of you know I was diagnosed with a terminal and progressive eye condition which has now taken the vision from my right eye. It has slowly progressed to the point where it has become difficult to read and perform what used to be simple dailey tasks. It is now starting to effect the left eye and my life is forever changing. I pretty much never leave my house now because the stress of trying to see has become overwhelming. I am a stay at home dad and my wife is nurse.

During this dark period in my life I am a trying to be the best dad for my 3 yr old son and 1 yr old daughter. My diagnosis is genetic and I fear that my children might be effected one day. After some self reflection and family support, I decided to sober up and have been good for over 1 year. I am now seeing the world much clearer than ever before, even though my vision is failed.

I decided to start sharing my feelings and expressing myself on canvas as WHiTEFiSH as therapy. I know I have been belligerent in the past, for that I apologize. I will continue to work on myself to the best father, husband and WHiTEFiSH possible.

I struggle to respond to a post like this, and find it really hard to find the words, but would rather say something than nothing.

I think a lot of us are going through different but similar issues, worries, guilt if that makes sense?

Over the years i have found It's the smallest things that can be the most important and memorable. Having a young family and having the time to focus and watch them develop, hearing the laughter. Doing arty stuff must be very therapeutic


Perfect goal with the husband and father bit. Art wise.......... well... it's all rather subjective ;-)
