in search of the holy grail, by tomhills on Jan 17, 2007 20:18:49 GMT 1, the idea behind this thread is if money was no object which banksy would you add to your collection? prints - signed/un-signed. i would say canvases too but that's like asking for your fantasy woman:- in reality it ain't gonna happen!! it's a dilema, i love "love is in the air" but don't know if i could live with that red day-to-day. the other is weston-super-mare. very understated in my opinion although out of my price range at the moment. think carefully and let me know. peace.

in search of the holy grail, by liveforever on Jan 17, 2007 20:55:41 GMT 1, I love the Crude Oils, I'd love one of them. My favourite print is Bombing Middle England.
But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I actually don't like WSM although I know I'm in a minority of one. I really like Applause, which I have, although again I know it's not hugely popular out there.

in search of the holy grail, by liveforever on Jan 17, 2007 21:09:42 GMT 1, I don't know, I just like what I like.
Here's another one for you...I don't get Micallef...there I've said it. Oh that feels better. I just don't see what the fuss is all about there. Saves me a fortune though as I only have to spend all my money on one artist instead of two.

in search of the holy grail, by tomhills on Jan 17, 2007 21:32:38 GMT 1, alarmists i saw one of the 12 artists proofs of "kate" when i bought my "grin" and before that i would have called you a fool for liking it. though like the tart herself, when you see it in the flesh you cannot resist it. you're not wrong on grin reaper either.

in search of the holy grail, by tomhills on Jan 17, 2007 22:04:06 GMT 1, perhaps to rephrase the original question a little bit. "is there one print you would sacrifice your whole collection for?" personally i don't get the fuss around jesus with shopping bags?

in search of the holy grail, by lesroy on Jan 17, 2007 22:09:46 GMT 1, I suppose my Holy Grail of Prints would be a toss up between the original colourway of Kate Moss or a signed Happy Choppers.
If money were no object then I would be looking to buy the original "Panto Horse"... makes me smile every time I see it!!

in search of the holy grail, by tomhills on Jan 17, 2007 22:27:08 GMT 1, for me if there were no exceptions then "are you using that chair" i would sail anyone or anything down the river for but to look at it another way then: what would be your sacrificial lamb? to finance/make room for your new work what would have to go? although i don't own it, anyone with love rat (even if it's signed) surely that would be the first to go?

I don't know, I just like what I like. Here's another one for you...I don't get Micallef...there I've said it. Oh that feels better. I just don't see what the fuss is all about there. Saves me a fortune though as I only have to spend all my money on one artist instead of two.

I honestly feel that stuff like the above is much "smarter" than anything I've seen released as a print.
