the only two things I can think are....
1) generally they seem to recently be into preserving their street art like museum items (shep's work opposite wasrecently repaired and put behind perspex!)
2) Admittedly the car is rusting away, especiallty the bonnet.
However the rain water makes the box sag on top, and also it is going a dirty green tinge already! 
arrrhhh! dunt that box look crap!  If they are really that worried about the car they should take it away and stick it in a gallery ;D it just spoils it

the campaign worked at first, now people seem to be giving me positives. what it all means we shall never know
re the car. I assume he painted the whole car - the tag (furhter along the container) is also in the same pink, and there are also drips in the car. why it was done I've never worked out... anyone know?
