MY stencil Idea., by ajuk on Dec 17, 2006 15:01:41 GMT 1, How about a plastic stencil that goes on the floor, and instead of using paint the a pressure washer could be used . Imagine that, they only way the council could get rid of the stencil is to clean the streets, either that or let if fade back into the dirt, what do you think?

Nice idea, sort of ungraf, maybe just spray it with varnish to protect it. sticking the stencil down enough to stop it getting blasted away with the water pressure might be tricky though,

MY stencil Idea., by ajuk on Dec 17, 2006 18:28:46 GMT 1, Shame I thought I had an original idea. How does he do it, with a pressure washer and a plastic stencil?
Though it would be great to see Banksy try it.

MY stencil Idea., by BK83 on Dec 18, 2006 4:33:46 GMT 1, Banksy had a very similir idea years and years ago, but dont think he actually put it to good use.
His idea was to spray the stencil onto brick/concrete using lacquer and then spray it again with some kind of acid substance (forgot what he called it) and anyway the idea was for the acid to react with the lacquer and eat into the wall a little bit and that way the stencil could never get buffed over. Brilliant idea, although, I can understand why he never did it -- it opens you up to a completely new level of illegality!!!

Not quite legal as the legal definition of criminal damage includes de minimus damage, if for example it could be shown that by 'cleaning' a surface anything whatsoever of the integrity of the original surface was damaged no matter how slightly it would fall foul of the law. I imagine that most councils have better things to do than try to prosecute advertising agencies.
