Solution for POW??, by irf2112 on Nov 18, 2006 14:03:19 GMT 1, Not sure if its in the right area but here goes.
It seems 20K people were after the Banksy prints - yet a lot of the stuff on POW doesn't move as quickly. To get rid of of the fleabayers etc how about this as a proposition.
When you purchase a print off POW your details are registered - so you dont have to put in your name and address etc again (when ordering that Banksy). All you'll have to do will be to log in with a user name and password - put something in your basket and pay. Its just that i dont think the chancers buy other art. So on the day they'll be busy trying to create an account whilst the rest will be logging in and (attempting) to complete a transaction.
The only way one becomes a member of POW will be through purchasing a print (account creation). It'll be one less page on the transaction. (name and address and contact details). Or if they want to be flash harry's how about a one click payment...

Solution for POW??, by gm on Nov 18, 2006 14:13:33 GMT 1, What if I ONLY liked Banksy from POW? I wouldn't buy A.N.Other artist's picture if I didn't like it, just in order to become eligible to log in for a Banksy print.
That's like me going in to a record shop to buy the new Reuben album and them saying "sorry, you're not allowed to buy any Reuben albums unless you've bought a Westlife album from us in the past".
However, those who ARE only in it for the money would have no second thoughts at buying the cheapest print on offer by A.N.Other at POW in order to become eligible for the Banksys, would they?

Solution for POW??, by corblimeylimey on Nov 18, 2006 14:15:36 GMT 1, It's not much hassle doing the name address etc, autofill works nearly all the time. I know I've got a mac, but I'm sure a similar thing exists for a PC it's just a matter of turning it on or allowing autofill for forms, only good if it's your computer though, not very safe on a shared works computer.

Solution for POW??, by rolyateel on Nov 18, 2006 17:20:13 GMT 1, i'm sure it wasn't 20,000 people, just 2000 people each trying multiple times i would imagine ยฃ300+ for a print is out of most peoples price bracket
