the AP's sales went tits up, by verbalkint on May 14, 2007 16:35:55 GMT 1, Just got 3 of these emails from ebay
We'd like to let you know that this Item, 290113540705 - Banksy Signed "Sale Ends Today" Printers Proof No.4/6. was removed from eBay for breaching of one or more of our policies. As it's important that eBay maintains member privacy, we can't tell you exactly why the listing was removed.
Any offers or bids placed on this listing are now null and void.
If you've already won the item
If you were the winning bidder, you're no longer obliged to pay for the item. If you've already paid for it, you can choose to reverse the payment or ask the seller for a refund. If you've already received the item you've the option of accepting it or returning it to the seller..........................................................................................
I got 3 of them on the ones i bid on, but i assume this has effected all 6. I wonder what happened? its highly unusual for ebay to pull listings AFTER they have ended isnt it? I would be pretty nervous now if i had sent £13100, especially as they say 'we cannot tell you why they have been removed'
I just wondered why this has happened, the auctions seemed legit to me

the AP's sales went tits up, by tomhills1 on May 14, 2007 16:39:42 GMT 1, not a clue, when iget a minute i'll go back and look at the listings. the emails are automated so the timing could be out - that's how they arrived after the listing had ended.
interesting to see what happens next

the AP's sales went tits up, by adrscib on May 14, 2007 16:51:15 GMT 1, THE AUCTIONS WERE FOR SURE NOT LEGITIMATE... I MEAN... how possible could it be that out of 6 auctions, 5 of them were bid up exactly at the same prices at the same time and ended with exactly the same price!!! its highly improbable. but its good publicity anyway.

the AP's sales went tits up, by affart on May 14, 2007 16:52:31 GMT 1, Its quite often ebay auctions are pulled after they have ended for a number of reasons. I myself use it quite often when selling high value cars/bikes, sometimes weeks & weeks after i self report ( with a diff id) & get the listing pulled, fvf refunded etc etc... When ebay started to be pr1cks, i thought why not play them at there own game.
I do believe the biggest ebay flaw is the one that allows you to create a new selling account with a made up credit card number/expiry date ( if you know how), thats been running years & STILLL they cant sort it out.

the AP's sales went tits up, by tomhills1 on May 14, 2007 17:09:24 GMT 1, i can't find the listings so speculation time once more i'm afraid. i would like to think it is a crafty way of avoiding fees but it seems a bit too soon to be pulling that one i'll keep an eye out and maybe ask a few bods.
interesting..............

totally agree. you need more than one service provider to drive competition and hence better conditions for all customers.
theres loads of other auction sites but realistically ebay is the only one in the UK. in many countries (e.g. japan), ebay isn't the dominant auction site though.

the AP's sales went tits up, by affart on May 14, 2007 17:51:22 GMT 1, Thats true but i dont think Alibaba & the like will venture over here so it needs someone to start afresh & kick some Ass.. Ebid, Tazbar ect have all tried & kind of failed to take a chunk of the pie.
I would think with the Art market so vibrant someone somewhere could/would come up with an online art only auction site, im sure with the value of stuff theres potential to make it worthwhile for all..
I am also annoyed that ebay have blocked Google payments so hopefully Google can f**k them off the page rankings but money talks so thats unlikely..
Anyway thats it, just remembered this is a Banksy forum...............
