FFFFttt! Here we go again! Why don't you go and steal the identical two and then you'll have a matching set?!
If you have the brains to think you want to cut a hole in the side of your van then am sure you are enterprising enough to buy an angle grinder and cut the f**ker out. Then a welding gun to slap a new bit of van to the old one.
What do you really expect advice wise??

Need advice on my rat, by mido on Sept 18, 2006 23:34:32 GMT 1, Banksy has done several vans in several places.
Personally my advice is to somehow try to keep the van (wrking or not) and enjoy the piece as it is - in situ - where it was supposed to be. Can't see the point of cutting it out. You'll just get loads of hassle over its provenance anyway.

He wants to know if he can sell it at Bonhams next sale of course.. the answer is NO !, i bought a stencil off ebay and did loads of vans round your end, your bit of scrap metal is worth zilch, same as the van after you've cut a big bloody hole in it.

Need advice on my rat, by monochrome on Sept 19, 2006 15:55:18 GMT 1, if you want to hang it on your wall, then cool - but i doubt you'd get much for it should you want to sell it. there are 100s of similar stencils for sale on ebay.

Hey, I'm blek and I did it first.. by the way, I live at 10 Downing Street, cars usually parked by the gates. just ask the nice man at the entrance and he'll sort you. Ignore the uniform, it's just for show.
Peace.
PS : Speaking of intelligence, i'm not the one contemplating cutting a hole in my car cos some vandal daubed it with a picture of a rat

Sorry, what you said doesnt make sense...and monochrome and Nu have both pointed out that the stencil is available everywhere on Ebay, so proving its really by banksy is next to impossible.
Obviously you are not stealing it, as its your van, but you posted a message 3 months ago saying "anyone seen the rat on a van going round london" and left it at that, why not say it was your van at the time? Why not post a picture and share it? No, you just turn up a few months later when you realise that maybe you could be making a fast buck and nothing else.
Banksy is both an artist and a vandal - that speaks for itself, so is anyone else that uses a spray can or other means to daub a public wall - but I really couldnt care less as to what he calls himself.
I just got wound up that you have obviously already seen the pound signs flashing before your eyes and decided that you can make a bit of money and run - so why do you need advice? Just do it and see how well you fair. Good luck to you but I hope you fall flat on your face. Not because you are "removing an artists work" just because your a greedy mug who should just do whatever you want - as you probably would done have regardless of what anyone's opinion on here would be.
Is that eloquent enough for ya?

Banksy has always been a vandal , especially in your case , sorry no pun intended I guess its a question of permission . I suppose you were pissed off at the time , now you can't believe your f***ing luck Can't be many vans go up in value.

Need advice on my rat, by mido on Sept 19, 2006 20:18:40 GMT 1, sam (howaboutnow) was prob wound up as the interest in banksy (often monetary) was exploded in the last few weeks and we have had quite a few newbies come on here, ask a question, and then not like the answers. Sorry qprfc1967 I made a c**k of myself. I completely misconstrued your first post as it came so close to brick blokes Ebay advert that I immediately thought over here was becoming an extension of Ebay. Thanks for clearing up about the intention to keep it and that you are actually a fan!
In all fairness, you were the one who called yourself a MUG (i.e...in caps) I just did it lower case. That was a bit harsh of me and I apologise. (then again, you do support QPR)
And I think this place needs a humour injection - - - found posts about the swear word debates again (i.e f**k, s**t, c**t and piss coming out with these f**king stars) the funniest ones where Steph said that b**ch was replaced by "pregnant dog" - and gm's classic of predictive text being a dublin shiv idea......can't we have those back instead??
