Big Face Poster on City Road, by HowAboutNo on Aug 25, 2006 0:10:46 GMT 1, Hi Rattus, The face is by Obey - we were talking about it originally being based on Andre the Giants (WWF Wrestler) face and how it spiralled from there. A.K.A Shepard Fairey - Obey was created as a "non brand" that just spiralled.
I believe the Banksy tag once accompanied a telly being thrown out of the window, this paticular one was cool as the "window" was painted within the frame of an old advertising billboard - looked really cool. Is the one in the Wall and Piece book.

Big Face Poster on City Road, by mido on Aug 25, 2006 13:21:01 GMT 1, The TV at Angel has been gone for quite a long time I think.
yes, the version at Old Street (corner of Rivington St) should still be there - it's been there for ages and is in a scabby car park, so I presume the owners are happy to keep it there. will be on the Part 4 tour.
well thanks guys. Shame to have missed the tele one. Isn't there one down near Old Steet now? guess I'll find out on The Banksy Tour part 4.

Big Face Poster on City Road, by mido on Aug 25, 2006 13:22:52 GMT 1, cool. I always wondered where the TV had been (at Angel). The tag is massive and also the only one I can think of that has an exclamation mark after it!!

Big Face Poster on City Road, by mido on Aug 25, 2006 13:24:07 GMT 1, Shep was here in the spring I think. I'm just guessing coz quite a few Obey posters went up around then, including the ones over the Pulp Fiction site.
