Framing or Hiding Away?, by crack on May 9, 2006 12:23:30 GMT 1, Yesterday I put three of my piccys in for framing and I wondered what you guys think about this. Personally, all mine have been in tubes for months and months and kinda got cheesed off having to pull them out each time mates visited.
Reckon they're gunna look fantastic on the wall but I'm wondering whether I maight have affected any future investment by doing this. Obviously they've been professionaly framed and will keep receipts - what are you thoughts?
Hopefully rather than

Framing or Hiding Away?, by guerillaart on May 9, 2006 12:29:34 GMT 1, No problem with regards to value as long as they have used Conservation mountboard (not just PH Neutral) and have attached the prints to the mount using archival tape, PH7-70 is good or water soluble conservation tape. Also make sure the prints aren't flush against the glass.

Framing or Hiding Away?, by monochrome on May 9, 2006 12:37:21 GMT 1, can you explain the 'flush against the glass' part
i always get professional frames, never Ikea, Habitat rubbish but would like to understand the framing process a little better.

Cheers for the feedback - not really too sure which they've used re the mountboard and will get on the phone and check asap. I've asked for them to have a board covering them so I guess there would be 10mm gap between picture and glass.

Just checked all well - knew exactly what I was asking about. I must admit to being very impressed when I took my pictures in - also believe quite cheap... Monkey Queen was ยฃ63 / Golf Sale ยฃ65 and Jack & Jill ยฃ80 (do these seem fair enough?)
If anyone is interested let me know - shop is based Camberwell/SE5.
