"Exploration brings together three contemporary UK based artists that examine human technology and its encroachment on the natural world. Using traditional notions of landscape as a departure point, the three artists bring in technological marvels; passenger-less drones, modernist architecture, the Higgs boson collider. With human advancement at the forefront of this exhibition each artist challenges notions of discovery, pursuit and exploration."

It was absolutely fantastic in person.

Visit BRISTOL ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art, Galleries, Events, by Feral Things on Jun 29, 2014 13:26:12 GMT 1, I forgot to mention that after 16 years of going strong this Inkie x Banksy collaboration sadly went this time last week. The wall was unstable and the contractors knocked it down and skipped it, so at least it died a natural death and won't be appearing in any scumbag auctions.

Visit BRISTOL ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art, Galleries, Events, by Feral Things on Aug 25, 2014 10:09:11 GMT 1, A year or two ago I uploaded photos of how all the Banksy's around Bristol are doing and I thought I'd repeat the exercise (with a bonus from Cheddar Gorge) for anyone who's interested. Unfortunately, there's been a spate of them disappearing lately; Modern Lovers has come and gone since I did this last, Grim Reaper was recently cut off the side of the Thekla, the sunset collaboration with Inkie died a natural death and Quak Attack has very recently been largely painted over. Here's how they looked shortly before they disappeared:
It's a real shame to see the Quak Attack piece go after all these years. It was 17 years old and, apart from being the last Bad Applz piece left remaining, I think it was also the oldest piece by Banksy, Tes, Kato or Lokey (EDIT: Now I think about it, this piece was probably the oldest in Bristol). In all fairness to Elms, some kid had already painted over the left half of the piece but apart from some light dogging it looks like Zynk's dub was the first thing over Tes's letters and half of Banksy's characters.
The cafe which is in the old Rollermania shop keeps the shutters up these days and the photo below is from a little while ago now but the piece is still there. The Planning Permission piece will be behind Portacabins while the basement of the library is converted into a school but, again, it's still there and Designed Picnic Area has faded some more. But here they all are:
And here's how some of the pieces which aren't by Banksy, but which regularly get mistaken for Banksys, are looking . SPQR from 2008, Dotcom and Slim from 2004ish, Jefrow from 2005ish (one of my all time favourite pieces) and Inkwel from 2012:
