Probably the worlds biggest Graffiti Piece!!, by Martin Whatson on Nov 11, 2009 1:30:57 GMT 1, Allrite. Not far from where I live we have an old airport not longer in use. Most of it is demolished or used for other purposes but the place where the planes used to warm their engines is still intact, and one of Norways most active Graffiti crews decided to make what may be the biggest piece in the world at the moment!
The length of the piece at the bottom of the wall is 210 meters, and at the top its 260 meters. Supposedly they used over 250 litres of paint for the outline alone and over a 1000 liters of paint on the whole piece!
This is taken from an airplane:
And here is a panoramic view of it!! www.360cities.net/image/foscrew
Here is the biggest piece ever painted, but it was sadly buffed earlier this year:

Probably the worlds biggest Graffiti Piece!!, by Replete on Nov 11, 2009 2:11:23 GMT 1, pretty cool. Missed a trick there though as that strip of concrete is crying out for the letters to be formed into an overall structure of a question mark
FYI both this and the MTA are actually Blockbusters a form of Dub (large simplistic solid letters usually in 2/3 tones often chrome/white/black) and not pieces. Pieces typically involve more than 3 tones and are more complex in design.
The biggest piece too my knowledge was Sabers LA river piece now sadly buffed too.

Probably the worlds biggest Graffiti Piece!!, by Martin Whatson on Nov 11, 2009 3:04:23 GMT 1, Hah. I dont usually use the "correct" graffiti terms anymore. But your rite ofcourse! Biggest Blockbuster then Alltho, this has 3 tones + background colour Anyway, I would call a Blockbuster this size a piece!!
This is as far as I know bigger then the Saber piece (or at least wider). Cant compete with the detail on the Saber tho! But the Saber was buffed at the same time as the MTA as far as I know!
I would love to see a bigger piece too, and Im not sure this is the biggest, hence the title 'PROBABLY the worlds biggest graffiti piece'
The question now is, will it survive the winter! :S

Probably the worlds biggest Graffiti Piece!!, by Replete on Nov 11, 2009 4:19:25 GMT 1, being pedantic its still a blockbuster though despite the background down to the style of the solid filled straight letters and blockbuster implies a large size due to relation to a city block size as well as squared off style. A lot of dubs do have three tones like I mentioned often with a chrome fill, black outline and white highlight and forcefield.
And I've never seen a piece bigger than Sabers which is just that a piece not a dub etc. Amuk in the UK had a really long and colourful one but was no where near in terms of height.
I think MTA was the best blockbuster due to it's perfect equal letter size, style and angle of and inclusion of the black 3D not to mention the risk as it was in heavily populated and policed LA facing some harsh punishment if caught that nowhere in Europe can compare to and with the MTA crew being arrested for it and other offences this year who knows what prison hell they'll end up in.
