Could it be a Banksy?, by derbigny6 on Oct 31, 2008 23:08:49 GMT 1, I ran across this work in Ashville, North Carolina on November 29th, 2008. I was driving down the street with my wife when it caught her attention immediately. She told me to stop the car quickly because she' was pretty sure she just saw a Banksy piece on the side of the road. It does appear to be his work, but I can't find any info on the webb concerning it or for that matter any mention of Banksy ever being in Asheville, North Carolina. I live in New Orleans and have visited a number of his works here and I know he was in Alabama and I'm wondering if he may have continued on up to Asheville and left this there. Also, about 150 feet away from the Chaplin portrait I found what may be a tag.
What do you think?

I was hired by a news organization to shoot video of the remaining Banksy pieces in the city after his recent visit here in August. I became familiar with his style and ran across the Chaplin portarait while on a road trip recently. To the untrained eye such as mine it does look like one of his. Sorry for the false alarm.
