Banksy 'Allegiance To The Bag' - Video, by romanywg on Mar 7, 2008 16:17:09 GMT 1, Here is a short video of the Banksy on Essex Road taken over a 1 hour period.
It was amazing to note the diversity of the people that took time to stop and look and discuss and take photos of the piece. I was filming from the other side of the road and in all that time I was constantly talking with the pedestrians who would stop and talk with me relating their own Banksy stories. It was quite an uplifting hour.

just goes to show why pieces like this should stay just where they are. so many people stopping to enjoy it, take photos, and appreciate it. not to mention the amount of people sat on a bus who will have enjoyed it too.

It was funny, when I was there 3 people were behind me for about 5 minutes discussing something and we got talking. They were from a bathroom shop down the road and were thinking about putting one of their baths in front of the Banksy and also a shower where the pole was and then photographing it. Unfortunately it didn't happen, but what a great idea.

If you see a crowd of people photographing something then It must be good.
Its like the old queue scenario, start a queue for no reason whatsoever apart from, you can. And you can guarantee that people will join it regardless.

His wall has the Banksy curator on it and he told me "He regularly tidies it up" Infact he showed me a picture of it with a 12" white line of paint through its face (just done the night before) and he was going to look back through his pictures and repaint it! That I've got to photograph. Anyone seen Mr Bean and Whistlers Mother?
