Seems too good to be true to be splashed across the front pages of the paper and then a 'picture taken on a camera phone' of the artist by a passer by. Or is it a picture by a known associate e.g Laz which happened to catch him kinda in the act?

It IS too good to be true, but Laz would have sent it to the Gaurdian unless hes changing it up to make it look not so much like his normal PR shit.

The only issue is that its definitely not Banksy in the photos. I still think its a mock up photo to generate some buzz for the Londonist, who first 'broke the story'.

Wide media coverage was always going to be inevitable after the first photo appeared. I'm certain the tabloids won't be able to resist this either.
As to whether it's him, I've no idea but would imagine someone on here knows.

my MRS suggested this on the train... if you look in the photo on the times he is touching up the piece and there is some scaffoldingโฆ I would have imagined a team of people did the piece and in this picture the person is simply touching up the yellow linesโฆ the piece is all but done.
It may be a picture of him or just a strategy by LAZ to get banksy in the press again
