Mortar Rats, by corblimeylimey on Feb 12, 2007 10:26:10 GMT 1, Cheers, I know the angle is wrong (on the top pic) but you can imagine that cloud of steam coming out the top of the houses of parliament is smoke from a direct mortar hit

Mortar Rats, by andrewd on Feb 12, 2007 18:31:32 GMT 1, May be this one is aimed that the South Bank Centre / London Eye. There is another one just a bit further down the Embankment at the 'right angle', i.e. towards Parliament!

Mortar Rats, by mido on Feb 12, 2007 20:18:02 GMT 1, what a load of rubbish.
as I'm sure you realise they are both on the riverside granite blocks, so are on the same line. If you look at either, you see the houses of parliament behind.
2 and 2 still equals 4 I believe.

Mortar Rats, by andrewd on Feb 14, 2007 0:04:15 GMT 1, Martin you are absolutely right, what intrigues me as I jog along there heading into town is it's obvious what they are both 'aimed at' but as Corblimeylimey says the angle of the barrel is wrong on the one furthest east and if the stencil had have been turned the other way round they would have both been aimed at Parliament. Not wanting to split hairs or talk nonsense, though what gets me every time I see them is how bl***y brilliant they are!

Mortar Rats, by pastiepie on Feb 22, 2007 3:00:33 GMT 1, maybe it is a tracking mortar or it is aimed to compensate for wind resistance?
