Screen print damage, by RBK on May 2, 2011 1:10:12 GMT 1, I sold a print that got a bit damaged during transit. It was then returned to me. I'm convinced the shipping tube was opened en route to the buyer and whoever handled the print manhandled rolling it back up.
Fortunately the front of the print isn't in bad shape - except for one area. It's more the back.
Attached are some photos: s685.photobucket.com/albums/vv220/rbk79/
So my questions: 1. Has anyone successfully fixed minor creases? If so, what is the best way to do this? 2. Or other advice?

Print restorer will be able to sort that damage good as new imo. Not very expensive. I have not had to use one, but there is a restorer regularly recomended on here - name escapes me. But someone will jump in with the details soon???

Screen print damage, by RBK on May 5, 2011 20:25:31 GMT 1, No - I'm not in the UK so that restorer doesn't help me.
And I'm also wondering if I should have it restored, try to restore it myself, or sell as is and the buyer can have fixed? Thoughts/advice?

Screen print damage, by wizzy on May 5, 2011 20:29:38 GMT 1, If you intend selling after its done RBK you may as well just offer it up as it is now so the buyer can choose to get it done or live with it, just my opinion anyhow.

Screen print damage, by mrwyatt on May 5, 2011 23:27:03 GMT 1, yup that should be fine to get fixed. I recently bought a print off a forum member and through no fault of his own the print arrived creased much like yours (bloody royal mail sitting on it during their lunch breaks!) before going through the hassle of trying to claim insurance etc I took it to Graham. He looked at it and said it'll take 2 or 3 hours of his time and it'll be ready in a week or two. The creases wont be there when I pick it up! So dont fret go and find a reputable restorer.

Screen print damage, by ABC on May 7, 2011 18:36:19 GMT 1, Did you insure it? At least they left the print in the tube. During the last few years Mr Postie has cottoned on to the Banksy thing and stolen a fair few prints and delivered the empty tube.

Screen print damage, by RBK on May 10, 2011 20:50:58 GMT 1, Unfortunately not ABC. And I'm not sure how I'd go about proving it was damaged during transit as the shipping tube was fine. I'm 99.5% sure the print was taken out of the tube, and then extremely hastily rolled back up before delivery to the buyer. What an annoying experience. I just hope I can eat some of the loss I'm going to have to take.
