I always liked using them myself, but would like to know if its not a good idea... :/ I had a good start to the year and took quite a few payments, on ebay items and private transactions, with no bad feed back and 100% happy buyers. Then out of the blue paypal suspended my account for abnormal activity, so I jumped through all their hoops, and provided all the information they needed, accounts and invoices, they released my account...... for a week, I took one ore payment, and they suspended it again with 1200 quid in, 5 months on and I'm still waiting to get it back!

I sold a laptop (ยฃ800) got paid through paypal, sent it, 3 days later (After laptop was signed for - abroad) Paypal reversed the payment. Then had the cheek to say I was in the red by ยฃ800 and I had a couple of days to pay it back or they would start legal action against me. I went to the Police Internet fraud team as I had been paid by dodgy credit card and all I got was... Well paypal, we've had thousands of complaints and basically tough s**t. Lessons learnt, never send anything anywhere other than a confirmed address, you are covered then. I sent to an unconfirmed address and lost out.
yep, you have to wait around days to the company to check whether the credit card is legit etc. Thjis also happens to cheques, so make sure when your selling to wait a few days to make sure its legit, raqther than bung the art straight in the post, you wont get your money back....

Having said that my combined ebay and paypal fees top 2 grand a month so they probably like me quite alot

If they have your bank details though they can take money from you without warning
