like it or not, wherever there's money to be made, there's gonna be people capitalising on it... t'is the way of the world
AND unfortunately, there are opportunists who will try their luck with extortionate prices - the problem is that people pay these asking prices and that's what keeps the trend going. As long as people are paying these high rates, there'll be people trying their luck. not nice but not stoppable either
take my advice - no matter how much you despise it, try not to let it bother you or you'll end up in an early grave

There's even worse now, there's buy to leave empty, developer wankers that can't be bothered with poor people living in their house whilst their investment rises in value. They leave the property empty which means less available housing which drives up demand even further increasing rent and property prices, then when they've helped to artificially inflate the market they can sell the empty property and buy another one too leave empty. Did I mention they're wankers
