How much does a small tear affect value?, by cameron138 on May 13, 2011 23:59:06 GMT 1, I have a DFace "United States Of America" printers proof 3/3 torn about a cm on the side of the print, before the image. It was professionally repaired for $125 usd using japanese rice paper. It's not noticable from the from the front, only the back. How much should I knock off in price if I ever were to resell this.

If the work is super rare and an important image for the artist people will overlook flaws, esp if properly repaired, but if it average then the price drops.

Also it was a printers proof so a regular edition wouldn't have been a fair replacement. Anyways they framed my Pop Tart print at no cost which saved me a few hundred bucks, they paid 125 to have it repaired, I couldnt imagine it would lose that much value. I had museum glass in the Pop Tart frame. I figure it's worth roughly 800 usd. With the damage I would still stand to fetch 450-500 usd, no? What do you think?
