How many did you buy back in the day ?
I didn't buy any when they came out I started acquiring them not long after. There was plenty of them around here in Bristol. I owned I think 8 of them, and still have 3 mine. But I was also selling these on someone elses behalf.

I thought that recently completed sales with positive feedback would be the best proof. I have never had anyone complained yet. I do everything I can to deliver best service to all buyers and earn positive feedback, which I'm kinda proud of.

Unfortunately since Pest Control will not authenticate these prints, there is not much provenance available. Best indication would be original packaging (which is unlikely to be saved with these) and extras that were available on the day. In this case it is Flyer, Sticker and badge. I don't have a badge with this lot unfortunately. I'm actually surprised how much of a concern it became, considering there is detailed photos and even recent successful sales. I am not sure what else I can offer really. If you are in Bristol, I can offer to meet in local gallery that sells these for £2000 (Hidden Gallery, Bristol). You will be able to compare.
Best regards

I think there are a few concerns rightly or wrongly.
As others have said there was no original packaging save for the single copies rolled in a polythene wrap. Also having a number of previous sales is not seen as a positive. On the contrary.
Difficult to know what else can be provided to help authenticate these. I seem to remember some people kept train tickets.

I guess I made a confusion. When it was issued, it was rolled in a tube (and wrapped in polyethylene). It didn't come in a cardboard tube. When I was buying them, they were already unwrapped, but still rolled. Cardboard tubes are mine personal that I made to order. I take a big care for all of my art. Usually if it is rolled in a tube I would keep it rolled.
Also, as I mentioned before, my eBay account is over 10 years old and have 100% positive feedback. I sell regularly and I wouldn't ruin it just for the sake of selling 1 item. Especially since I have invested in several of these, and sure I will buy and sell more of them.

Unless you are the owner of hidden gallery, I don't imagine they would be impressed having a meet up there to sell your poster. I think Mshed still have one on display, but neither of these places are going to be open for a while.

Not sure about Mshed. In Bristol Hidden gallery and Lougher contemporary have these. But as much as I'm aware Lougher doesn't have gallery where you can come to look at stuff.

Whenever I am in doubt, I would go to a gallery that has a copy and compare it. Or bring it to a dealers I know in Bristol and ask for opinion. With these particular prints, I have sold numerous amount of them over last couple years. At first I was selling to established dealers (repeatedly). I know who would buy them at any time, but the price is a bit low. I was selling these pretty cheap at first as had loads of them. Quite a few friends of mine had them and I was selling it for them. Now as I am having only a few left, I'm rising prices up. Generally I think only a few people I sold these to, never had it before. Most buyers were dealers or collectors who had them before. Never had any complaints, so I'm pretty confident what I am selling. If it is a fake, it must be a really good one if no one came back yet. I did buy fakes couple times before on the auctions (listed on invaluable). But it was obvious right away that it was fake. There was no guessing. The quality of these prints is completely different level, it's not as easy to print them.
Best regards

Not got a dog in this fight and making no judgement, but I can't think that they're going to be that difficult to forge - the print quality never appeared to be that good, at least to my untrained eye...

Sorry, I am not sure tbh whether it is gloss. It is not like a magazine cover. But it is sparkly and reflect light.

Banksy • Tesco Petrol Bomb Poster, by tab1 on Apr 2, 2020 20:56:49 GMT 1, These were reproduced heavily around 6 years ago ? when they were selling for £120-£140 on eBay , the fakes came with a small flyer to give credibility , the print had a. slight Matt finish and less sheen , I bought one but as had purchased a original on release could clearly see was not genuine, the seller took back without a fuss , so another giveaway Most of the ones that were sold soon after the release people discarded the flyers as they were only £5 and Tesco multi can posters at the time were only £50 on eBay , so if come with flyers it is a rarity but does not always mean they are genuine The poster pictured looks legitimate The only way is to compare with someone that has a gallery

This is why I always advice to meet in person. Even offer free delivery around Bristol. Photos doesn't make a justice. It feels and looks solid. Definitely not something you can print at home. Also, I prefer no to risk with postage. Since someone tried to return me a copy once, I don't accept returns after print is posted. I can send as much photos as needed though

Banksy • Tesco Petrol Bomb Poster, by vad77 on Apr 4, 2020 11:51:46 GMT 1, I find it hard to believe you are new to the forum, with an eBay name like "urban and contemporary" it's highly unlikely you've only just discovered this place, more likely that you have opened a new account to sell these. These were never "issued" in a tube, they came in plastic wrap, any old school member will be able to confirm, there is also one other major error with these and it's more visible in the photos of the previous ones you have sold. I'm not going to make it easier for you but if anyone looking to buy this would want to know the issue please drop me a pm.
It is not the first print I am selling and not the first year since I owned my first. Currently there are at least 2 listings on artsy.net selling these prints, listed on Plazzart, just accepted on Artsnap, been previously submitted (but not put out) on Chiswick, Tate Ward and several smaller auction houses thru artsy.net. As you may know it is not so easy to get into any of these places, and have to go thru revision. Yet no one so far spotted your major error. If you would say that this is a very fine reproduction, it would be more believable. But to say that there is a major issue that no one have spotted, after so many hands have seen these prints is a bit sensationalistic. I appreciate your activism on this forum, but you may be doing more bad than good really.

Quite small then... Always though they were bigger.
