MBW, by mmmike on May 12, 2011 22:17:49 GMT 1, Well I was planning on buying one of these as my first and only MBW. dislike his work or hate it, he is now a part of street art history. This one pretty well sums up his entire body of work to date. I think it would be a great souvenir of a short and interesting career.
But then I saw the price
PASS
I guess it is back to plan A wait till the bottom drops out of his market then pick something up. It shouldn't be long now.

This is him 'juxtaposing' something because the images have no connection, aha, yeah, hmm. Fandabydozy as my mum used to shout whilst dressed as a school boy on that childrens television programme she starred in.

MBW, by Coach on May 12, 2011 22:37:30 GMT 1, Oh dear god! I havent liked any of MBW prints, so seeing them all together is painful. In order to be polite, I will say only that I think it lacks artistic merit, is unoriginal, and for me, is unpleasant to look at. Mind you, seemed like a nice fella, so good luck to him making his fortune; he had the balls to take a big risk in the first place. I have no doubt it will sell out imediatley, and that 25% of the release, or thereabouts, will be on ebay within a week. Imo.

At this price, this has got to be him pricing himself out of the game. He's kept afloat by the flippers, and this price tag will turn most of them off I would think.

Something I don't get with your comment. What's the point of raising the price if you don't sell any at a lower price?
Taking away what can cause hype to the volume of demand, I'm pretty sure that the demand is relatively elastic [For non economic people, elastic demand means that percentage change in quantity demanded is greater than the percentage change in price].
He might just be trying to maximize his revenues that's all. He sells out in 10s at $400.. He only has to consistently find 125 people to pay $1,000 for his print which seems to be highly doable..
Anyway, to come back to your comment. It doesn't make any sense to me. If he says he sold everything at $1,000 (when he only sold 10). Next release will be at $1,500, he's going to sell 5... So doesn't help his cause.

As long as those 5 are flipped for a profit, im sure people would be convinced to purchase the next high priced works

MBW, by saint on May 13, 2011 12:29:42 GMT 1, Its a little similar to the canvas he's got in the Hareball at the mo, which currently is at about 3gs i think. Ludicrous when theres a fecking Quinn canvas in the same auction still less than 500. 10 days to go tho, you never know where they'll finish.
PS, this image hurts my eyes, its like one of those magic eye things, i keep expecting to see something in there, but just see a mess....
