did you buy a large format Obey? - VAT!!, by chrispa on May 22, 2011 23:02:14 GMT 1, If you purchased one of the $500 Obeys recently and are in the UK you have probably just (or are just about to) find that you get a charge of £70-£80 to import. . I phoned customs and they begrudgingly agreed that this should have had VAT applied at 5% instead of 20% and I have now sent off the details they need (hopefully) for a big refund. . So if you had a big import duty then phone the number on the customs label and complain and they will tell you what to do . More here urbanartassociation.com/index.cgi?board=ebaychat&action=display&thread=17538

It can be original works, but also hand printed, colour, limited edition prints using several plates.

Why would you pay 20% when the correct rate is 5% ?
I wish I was your accountant - I'd be skimming off the top like nobodys business.
"Yes sir £2000 for the yellow trouser tax is correct"

Surely if you are that worried about the state of the country due to non-payment of tax, you'd call them up and insist you paid what you knew was due when they didn't 'spot' it, no?

...read the original post, he queried it, they changed it from 20% to 5%, are you saying they are wrong now?
Either way, it doesn't deflect from the fact that you are happy to criticise others because of your concern for the state of the country, but were quite happy to do the same yourself (whether through their error or otherwise)
If you can't see the hypocrisy there, then there's nothing more to say...

I can't be bothered to play your stupid little games freerange.
But please can you explain that comment?
I'm not wilfsboy if that's what you're implying and I don't know him either.
But you know me...stolenspace 2007 'what wars are for' print release. I was right at the front of the queue with you.
So I know who you are.
Unlike you I don't hide on the internet under a user name.
My forum user name is my real name.
And that's all I can be bothered to say..i'm just going to make good use of that 'ignore' feature from now on.

...you've clearly never dealt with HMRC if you think they are remotely flexible on issues like this. 'Begrudgingly agreed' suggests they took a look at their own rules and changed their charge accordingly... no idea what else you could think it means?
You are still sidestepping your blatant hypocrisy above.
...and what's with the 'on your way laddy' business?
I've always thought I'd make my own mind up about the commonly-held opinion that you are a bit of a tw@t, posting this sort of crap does you no favours at all.

seriously - why dont you give it a rest - you have to give your opinion about everything, throw some s**t at people, then to back step it, you says its only a joke or some other blase response - dont you get it, people dont find you funny, and I am getting seriously bored of you wading in on every thread, with your unwelcomed or non-sought after opinion.
