What is known is the sellers last Banksy item was the Wrong War placard which was defo a fake. See the ebay thread at the top.

Real or fake?, by matilda on Jun 19, 2006 17:53:40 GMT 1, seemed poss' to me that as a known fake seller ,he might also be the sort to knick anything he fancied eg this panel,off the street; someone posted a quote about a man having a bit of wall knicked for the picasso graff on it way back in the day!...some sudden vanishing acts are due to private deals being struck; seems likely here as the people in the know couldn't swear it was snide....

(thanks by the way) the e-mail is about another virgin mary print that is for sale which has copied my picture!! the number of the item is 190020771981 which by chance is for sale next to mine. I have reported this to e-bay and have also contacted the seller of the print. The seller has a mickey mouse excuse about bluetooth not working etc..... and When politely asked to remove the picture I was told in no uncertain terms to F-off  . Please be careful if you are bidding on this item as you have no way of being sure they actually have this print. Thanks again police aware for contacting me as I am on holiday at the moment and have limited access to the internet. cheers gordy

Bit of an odd one, love the story about cutting it in half to get it into a ford fiesta.. sounds like a genuine story, and the first 'guards' that banksy did really did have this dodgy face, it's actually better cut than the first few Banksy guards.

I know because I have one of these boards too, with the Life of Brian image. The guard originally had the propped gun as well, but this was on a seperate huge board, as the join was down by his back leg (couldn't carry it all).
To my best knowledge this is genuine. The quality of the stencil is very high and it has the hand painted pee mark. Unfortunately I didn't notice it was part of the image and bust it off. I can only give my honest word of where I got it from - look at my other auctions, I'm not a dealer. I only put that disclaimer at the end because there's no reserve and I didn't want to lose this thing for nothing.
If anyone can find an image from Glasto I would be very greatful for a copy.
