The stones Sticky Fingers: The Lost Session photos, by Sacked... on Jun 15, 2011 22:48:08 GMT 1, Sticky Fingers: The Lost Session More...A selling exhibition of rare and unpublished Rolling Stones photographs by Peter Webb 16th July to 3rd September 2011
It’s a story that would give any photographer sleepless nights, but that any gallery owner dreams about.
A classic photo-session for one of the biggest bands on the planet, The Rolling Stones, for the cover of one of their most critically acclaimed albums, Sticky Fingers. Disaster then strikes, as British photographer Peter Webb’s negatives go missing soon after the 1971 shoot. Then, out of nowhere, they are discovered again after almost 40 years.
Detailed scanning of the negatives by Peter Webb reveals a collection of previously unpublished photographs of The Rolling Stones, both group shots and solo portraits, in black and white and colour. Sticky Fingers was released 40 years ago, and it is a pleasure, in this anniversary year, to be showing these incredible lost session images together in a comprehensive gallery exhibition for the first time anywhere in the world, some in sizes up to 6ft wide.
We'll be posting further information about the exhibition, plus full details of available images and prices, nearer the exhibition start date of 16 July 2011

The stones Sticky Fingers: The Lost Session photos, by stillborncrisps on Jun 16, 2011 10:33:56 GMT 1, I have to ask, how does a professional photographer 'lose' what even at the time would've been a pretty important piece of work.
Seriously, what item have you ever 'mislaid', only for it to turn up 40 years later?
The skeptic in me thinks this is more likely the band or record company ditched the session when Warhol got on board to do the sleeve, and these negs have sat in the grumpy photographer's drawer ever since. The lost/found merely makes it sound romantic, exciting & exclusive for PR purposes.
Will be popping down though. Looks interesting.

The stones Sticky Fingers: The Lost Session photos, by Bridget Riley 10 on Apr 5, 2021 11:42:24 GMT 1, Just putting this up again as put it up at midnight last night and a few of you may have missed it.
Hello all. Not sure this is the right forum so I apologise in advance. I have a 1982 European tour program pull out signed by all the Rolling Stones band . Its a great piece. The lady who obtained the work has written the full details on the back which states Charlie Watts signed it later than the other 4. The program page has all the 1982 European dates and venues on the left hand side which gives it a great feel and its now just on 40 years since they played these gigs. Ronnie Wood signed in a green marker the rest are in black marker pen. It’s is sort of framed as it has a cardboard cover around it but it needs a proper frame adding to the outside which I have not had the chance to do over the past 12-18 months but will do if I don’t sell it. Paul Wane who runs tracks and the country’s main expert in stones and Beatles signatures has seen it and confirmed all signatures are ok. He made an offer but I thought too low at the time. He was also interested in a signed Paul McCartney item I had which I didn’t sell either to him ( PM me if you want to see that ). Open to decent offers. I live near Warrington/Liverpool. I could send to person if good offer received but as it’s just in cardboard it may be best to collect the signed program.

The stones Sticky Fingers: The Lost Session photos, by E9Boy on Apr 5, 2021 16:49:05 GMT 1, picked this up when half cut about 20 years ago. Lichfield was Mick’s best man and was allowed to take pics providing he didn’t capture any drink, drugs or sex 😀. Very rare signed fibre based print.
Not meaning to derail thread, thought maybe interesting to a few...
