Silky to be the new Banksy?, by kjzimm on Jan 26, 2011 6:47:24 GMT 1, I'm fully expecting to get a bit of stick off some of you, and I'm not worried in the slightest Everyone will be able to see who has the axes to grind, and it will be a perfect show of how some of you really operate. Thank you to those giving support
Therefore, anyone not liking the art is grinding an axe.
Makes sense to me.
I'm working up a gallery show and had (on some level) hoped that I could get some exposure through this group, but now I think it wouldn't be worth it.
We have real art lovers here. And I know, if my art is worth its salt, it will make an impact regardless of the media outlet.
Have fun Dan.

Silky to be the new Banksy?, by elo on Jan 26, 2011 13:45:33 GMT 1, Like I said Silky please stick to the day job. No axe to grind but trying to protect what is very slowly becoming a mickey mouse boys club art form. What would sadden everything even more if we were to find out you are a Cowellesque type product which would in turn be taking the p*ss out of every member who MAKES this forum to get info and also buy/trade original and great art. At the start people risked their lives, lifestyle some even serving prison sentences for art and I really hope this doesnt get as low as X Factor. I would like to think quality and originality must be a focal point NOT sales. True art comes from the heart. Like mentioned above - please take into account the artists who are breaking the boundaries, living poor, and who have many feeding off their carcass. Once again sorry for my lack of humor- Peace ...looking forward to your new collection and bargains and at the end of the day I do love a 'have a go hero'

Yep! It was great working with Russel and he was so open to new ideas and trying new shapes and designs. Most of those pieces he would thrown in seconds super fast! and then I would spend a couple of hours on each piece carving and designing. They would then get biscuit fired in the kiln, dunked into a tube of glaze for a split second, and then off for its final trip in the kiln
