Just back from Germany. Spanked out a new PB of 10 hrs 29 mins including a best ever bike split of 5 hrs 6 mins for the 112 miles.

My buddy did it last year. He seemed to enjoy it.

Mate of mine did MdS last year. Hated it but 'ticked the box'. He recovered fine... Did an Ironman within 5 months.

CD yes I have got the program but James Cracknell was trying to be the first Brit (which he was). He was pushing himself to the limit. There is a massive difference between pushing yourself and a gentle paced run. I do the parkrun on a Saturday which is 5k and I push to the limit and am totally exhausted for the day whereas the next day I can do a 20 mile easy pace run and hardly break a sweat.

The MdS is Desribed as a race for Nutters, Lunatics, head cases and Masochists so if you enter you know what your in for. Everyone agrees it's gruelling but at the same time you only live once.

The only slighty challenging race i've done is 'Tough guy' in Perton. I'd have pushed myself alot harder had I realised that all the scary s**t on their website, was just that. Actually not as long or hard as i thougt. But a great race none the less. I'd have finished in the top 10% I think had I done the course before, but just scraped into the top 33%. Def worth doing though.
I've just bought myself a concept 2 rower, so gonna dedicate the next 4 years of my life into that and qualify for the Oldland Common team, so I can compete against our arch rivals Wick at the Pants olympics. A legendary event where you have to burn your kacks before your allowed to compete in any event. It started with the 'Pants Ashes' we coulddn't afford to burn the bails, so we burn't our knickers and its spiraled since then into a global event. Search google!.
