The Worst Film Ever, by saint on Jul 22, 2011 10:18:24 GMT 1, Oh Waterworld is just awful, i tried to watch it but got about 20 minutes in and felt like i had aged 10 years.
Dogma? couldnt disagree more, one of my favourite films and how can anything with jay and silent bob in it be bad?

The Worst Film Ever, by stringer64 on Jul 22, 2011 10:45:18 GMT 1, This thread just goes to show how tricky it is to pick the "worst" or "best" of anything as we all have such different tastes. I thought I would hate "Avatar" as it is the antithesis of what I feel cinema should be about (educational and thought provoking) but found I quite enjoyed it. When I studied the Sociology of Film at University I had to watch "Aguirre, Wrath of God" and although I could appreciate the cinematography, acting and the direction, found parts of the film tedious. Having thought about this thread a lot last night, I would have to say that remakes are usually the worst idea that a director or production company can have. For this reason I think that the American remake of "The Vanishing" is the most pointless and worst decisions ever made. The original Dutch/French film was extremely disturbing and thought provoking, leaving all the terror of what might have happened to the viewer. The remake took away all of this and opted for a "star" vehicle which also made it less terrifying and tied up all the frayed edges at the end. Worst film? probably not. But I would contend it was one of the worst sacrileges in film history.

The Last Airbender. Watched it the other night thinking, 'yeah i'll like this i reckon'....
It was a weird film, very disappointing i thought. Some very good moments, but surrounded by a storyline very hard to follow, and constant voice overs which sounded like they had been added as an afterthought.... Anyway, i would still annoyingly like to see the sequel when it comes out, which makes me a proper mug i guess.

and Troll 2

I enjoyed it. Bit like Mad Max on water instead of land and some cool cinematography in that vein. But I can see how others might not rate it though.

Me and my mate picked it up in the bargain bin in Macro when I was about 14 and had never seen anything so bad/stupid/weird in our lives. As a result of watching it at such a young impressionable and highly influencial age, we began copying lines from the film and brought them into general conversation - some still used now! Like "sweet daddy madison monk!" and "Can ya sing?"
