Mercury Music Prize, by Prescription Art on Jul 19, 2011 11:50:40 GMT 1, I usually have a hunch about who will win, but not this year. Lots of acts with great songs but who don't yet have a great album.
I think you missed James Blake from that list btw. Think the winner might be between him, Metronomy & Anna Calvi. I'd say PJ Harvey's album is best but she's already won it once.

I stopped betting on this years ago, I swear it's bloody rigged, the Favourite never wins it. My mates old man used to be a regular on the voting panel, one particular year he tipped us off as to who had won the voting process (before the ceremony) only for a completely unexpected winner to pop up from nowhere on the night!

Mercury Music Prize, by Deleted on Jul 30, 2011 4:18:34 GMT 1, My favorite 2 Elbow albums were the first 2. The 3rd was very hit and miss. I just haven't beeen able to get into 'The seldom seen kid' and diddn't even know they had a new one out. Whats it like compared to the first 2?

That's because the bookies always assume that the biggest seller / artist that sun readers have heard of is the favourite.
Mind you Speech Debelle was a strange one!
