What does everyone think of OS X LION, by rottenredrooster on Jul 21, 2011 16:47:47 GMT 1, Bit off topic... but wondering what people's take is on the new Mac OS (Lion)?
I quite like the full screen mode and the mission control utility is very good. Am just getting familiar with the trackpad gestures...
The new mail look is good and I like how it is similar to the iPad 2 layout.

What does everyone think of OS X LION, by mmmike on Jul 23, 2011 14:21:51 GMT 1, I have not tried it yet, but I've been told the download can only be used once if you install it as instructed however you can save it down rather than installing it straight away that will allow you to use it for multiple installs ;D

What does everyone think of OS X LION, by decorum on Jul 23, 2011 14:39:43 GMT 1, I'm really enjoying it, although a major bug being my external hard drives are no longer recognised!
Hopefully a rapid fix from apple with make it better.

kinda. you need to find the InstallESD.dmg and turn that into a bootable disc/flash drive.
It's dead easy, plus you'll then be able to boot up if your hd fails and also to perform a clean install if need be. Plus it saves paying ยฃ40 for the same thing from the apple store.
instructions here;

What does everyone think of OS X LION, by rottenredrooster on Jul 23, 2011 19:39:43 GMT 1, I prefer it to snow leopard. The scrolling feature on the trackpad is brilliant and very simple. Quite like how mail has followed the iPad route.
That reminds me decorum to check my HD's...
