I did find this a bit weird.

At 6pm there was actually only a queue of about 50 people (60 at a push). It was so quiet compared to the olden days, no pushing-in, no families, no gangs, no mates arriving and joining those at the front. Would've been nice if everyone could've got one as there was obviously enough to go round.

I was there at half five, why they decided to do 2 each is totally beyond me - everyone could have gone home happy, instead they decided to piss off 50% of people.

Yes she is, whoever purchased it is very lucky.

Why would they sell two per person? Shutting out websales I understand, begrudgingly, but 2 per person seems wrong, especially with a queue outside waiting. Tough to understand that.

Yes I think they are a tad thick...allowing people to buy two was a huge error and clearly bought out the flippers despite the "wording error" - just tell them it's one per person in the queue, hardly tricky. You could spot the ebayers in the queue.

The Early and Ji pieces were outstanding, if massively overpriced in the case of the Ji piece because of its size.

Love the fact that the things at the show were not being spoken about much on either this or the pow book launch.

Out of interest, did D* decide to sign the prints the right way up this time or did he forget his glasses again. ;D

i cant see why they let us have 2. i mean if you turned up at half 4 and saw 20 people you would have thought youd have a print? but turning up at half 5 is asking to be let down anyway regardless of how many people are there. the thing that bothered me was the 2 french blokes at the front paid for 4 prints on 1 card.

i'm glad i got both cause had i just gone for the purple i would have missed out on that blue. which in person, kicks purples arse.
people will hate it but to me its the best dface for a few years and a super low edition.

one bloke gets two prints (you) and two French blokes at the front get four prints (two each). Quality.

I was about 30th in the queue (counted back) and therefore was quite happy expecting to get a print. Then saw people coming out with two each including said Frenchmen but I stayed in the queue hoping I might nab one.

Just as we got to the front and into the gallery (45mins later) the chap came out and asked if we were queueing for the prints, we replied 'Yes, of course'. He then said 'Oh, we knew they sold out about an hour ago, we listed people in a spreadsheet and all 50 have gone'. How kind of him to tell us just as we had been queueing for almost an hour.

As people have said, they admitted it was a mistake selling two per person, pain in the arse though. By 7pm there were about 25 people in the gallery and about 60 people outside just drinking the free beer...a resounding success, but then I suppose they sold most items before the show even started.

take it from me - this is not the first time this kind of proverbial pish has occurred at stolenspacetime.

much as they might wish to purvey and do - a good collection of art and artists... when it comes to basic organisation and customer service.. forget it, pal.

To be fair, it's not really his job to tell you they were sold out. The guy that got the last one was asked by Beth to tell the next person to come along that they had sold out, which he did and one man left because of this (unhappy). One woman came down after he left to get one for her 17 year old son and was gutted but stayed in the queue anyway. A nice chap took pity on her and offered her his one (they gave the invoices out to people before the doors opened so that was your "proof" that you had one waiting for you inside). A few more people came and they also got told that they had sold out but stayed in the queue anyway. The word should have been passed back but I guess someone forgot to pass the message on. Stolenspace should have come out just before 6 to tell people though and not left it up to the queue to pass the bad news on.

I got there at about 4.50pm and counted that I was 27th in the queue. It was only 20-30 mins later that I was handed a clipboard with 24 blue and 24 purple spaces to put my name against. I was surpriced to see only 6 or so prints left with 48 being on offer. I got the second from last purple available but it wasn't even for me. I offered to get Sal one as he lives aboard any really wanted the print.

And I didn't even touch one of the free beers!
