"The project is exclusively a retail opportunity launched for customers at our Hinde Street store in London. We were taking reservations on the skateboards which have all now been filled. The reservations are taken under the condition that customers are able to attend the launch on Tuesday July 12th from 6.00pm to 8.00pm and pay for the skateboards in person. Any skateboards not purchased on the night will then go on sale to the general public at 10am on the 13th July. There will also be a selection of unreserved signed boards which will only be available on the launch night. At this stage the price for the signed boards is ยฃ4,200 including VAT, subject to further incremental price increases" Did anyone get one for ยฃ1200, the price I am sure I read at the top of the thread? nope, but i was able to reserve one for ยฃ2400. to be honest, not 100% sure i'm going to buy it, going to head down on the night and check it out.

Look at the decks that actually sold, none of the decks have sold minus that one for $300 and that's not a "dot" deck. Prices on these decks are crazy inflated, massive difference between listed prices and sold prices.
Realistically these buyers are paying ยฃ100 for the deck and ยฃ2,300 for the drawing. Fair enough, each to his own about the drawn on decks but the normal ones are simply a rip off. I'd be happy to sell my two decks for ยฃ400 each, feel free to PM me people

If you would like to make a reservation, we are happy to do so however there are some conditions. You may reserve a piece up to 6pm on the evening of the launch, July 12th. If you would like to purchase the deck, you must arrive at 6pm and pay for it. Any skate decks not paid for will become available for sale to those at the launch. If the next day it has not sold, the piece then becomes available for sale over the phone.

Basically they're pretty much all spoken for but they have advertised the release as tomorrow night. When people (who haven't read this forum or interpreted the email) arrive to buy there is going to be a huge line of people who have reserved and are busy paying.
The people who have reserved have until 8pm to collect which is when the evening finishes. If half the people who reserved change their minds and don't turn up all the people that wanted to buy will have to contact the gallery by phone the next day.

It makes you wonder if its just being done this way to create a bit of chaos and a crowd. Thats why you could not pay in advance etc.
Cause when you look at it its not really about the money for him. Even at 4K a pop. 40 x 4 is only 160k and we know not all are at that price about a third I reckon. With all the squiggles and signings etc It would have been easier to do a 1 off and charge more.
S I have a feeling that having a crowd there and a bit of pomp and scramble may well be part of the goal

yeah, when i called up to make payment she told me people were flying in from the states and europe to collect their pieces tonight. really curious to see what it's like down there tonight!

So I think this will popular and I suppose in a sense it has slightly gone outside the flipper market as no one is sure etc. So for me it's quite a good thing in a funny way. Think value will go up etc but not bought to sell and I expect that most are not bought to sell.
