It's not jailbroken, I've turned off all the memory consuming processes and done everything forums say you should to speed it up and it's still slow.
The weird thing is when I bought it, it was super speedy all the time! I'm sure apple plant slow-down bugs in older phones to promote people buying newer ones!!

Well yes and no... each new operating system will require more and more power, same as on PCs. Eventually the machine becomes too sluggish to be useful, even though it hasn't physically changed its speed.
