Banksy(?) Portrait on ebay HELP!!!, by markallnutt on Aug 15, 2011 12:31:35 GMT 1, A friend aquired this unsigned painting from a homeless man outside the Banksy exhibition Santa's Ghetto on Charing Cross Road, London back in 2004. The man said it was a Banksy and that the gallery were throwing it out! The painting has been in my possession ever since, gathering dust. After recent curiosity, I contacted Bonhams about the painting and they said it was unlikely to be a Banksy and put me in touch with Pest Control Office who informed me that is was NOT a Banksy. Now I'm at this dead end, I would very much like to know who the real artist actually is, so I decided to list it on ebay, not so much to sell it, but to see if anyone can help me identify the artist and its two subjects. The figure on the right is disguised behind green hair and glasses and a beard, and im sure at one point there would have been a red nose stuck to portrait, as all that remains there is the glue. I'd like to know why this face hace been concealed behind a clown like mask (could it be Banksy?) and who is the smart man on the left? The painting itself is in good condition with a small slit in the canvas just above the hand, and the frame is missing on the left and the right hand side. Measurements w 101cm x h 78.5cm (including whats left of the frame) Please if anyone has any information, please contact me at stockystuff@hotmail.co.uk thankyou link: cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260833674582&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT#ht_500wt_1156
