ie: ssl, php, perl, unix, windows, mac, cgi scripts, you need to know what you need for what... dreamhost, startlogic do a top ten web host search

If I remember it's about ยฃ35 after the first year.

When I first started on the web, that's how I got some of my best domains names hijacked. Please use a domain registrar outside of your hosting company.

Most important, follow DryMounted's advice, make sure your registrar is different than your host. BTW, for registrar, I use NameCheap which is very good.

They host the MOD's services amongst many others, although they're not cheap. Suppose it depends on the value of your commerce, ie if your transacting ยฃยฃยฃยฃ daily then go for the best, but if it's just a blog then cheaper options would be best.
Dry mounted - would love to know the URL for your 400kpd .. That's powerful!

Sedo are good if your domain is showing as not available, and not being used. Most of the time you will be able to purchase it direct form here....as well as your top domains.
If you register a new domain, make sure its for 5 years plus as this gives good signs to Google for your SEO efforts.
Infact im in torn between selling my Banksy CYW or buying a high value 2 letter domain name right now....decisions decisions
