Antony Micallef • 21st Century Love, by mookie on Dec 20, 2009 11:14:56 GMT 1, Probably the same owner for both then and didn't bother looking after them. Can't imagine someone paying full cost price and treating them like they have been... probably a gift or something. Wouldn't bother me being a being a PP as they are signed and the same image and I doubt there would be any difference in price if a print from the main run, in the same condition, was entered in that perticular auction in it's place.
Here is another PP for sale.

Antony Micallef • 21st Century Love, by Daniel Silk on Dec 20, 2009 13:24:12 GMT 1, Did this cost £5k when it was released? I thought it did but can't remember. This and Judgement day are my favourites and really want them for my wall one day. Someone sold a framed judgement day on here a few weeks back... anyone remember the asking price? i remember it was a good price. Edit; found the thread- asking price 550.
I seem to remember £475 as the original price I remember thinking about getting one but felt it was a bit expensive at the time

£475. Not sure why I thought this was £5k originally. Probably a gallery price.

plus restoration fees = not far off what this one is being offered for at 3k.

wow, never knew that!! i remember a friend paying 3.5k for his, and guessed that was the cost from release. seems these increased after his signing to Laz.

it saddens me but I feel your right. I love Mic and not sure what is going on in his camp but his pricing is all over the place now. maybe hope for me yet in purchasing an OG.

Antony Micallef • 21st Century Love, by huggybear on Dec 21, 2009 16:23:33 GMT 1, At first the whole Antony Micallef price plummet thing baffled me. Here was an artist who was hyped up to be the next big thing, the 'new Banksy', whose prints people queued all night for and had punch-ups with ticket touts to get their mitts on.
Two years later and the a*se has fallen out of his market in spectacular fashion......or has it? If you bought an Eyestorm print three or four years ago, its value should still be well ahead of what you paid for it. Even if you bought an earlier POW print at cost, you'll still be up. Its only those who got swept up in the very worst of the hype and paid the red hot secondary market or LAZ prices, who are really taking a big hit.
Three years later, he's still brilliant artist. He's not going anywhere and with sensible management will be around for many years to come. If I were AM, I wouldn't release any prints for five, maybe ten years and that way the market will recover.
Oh and if I were new to this 'scene' and wanted a really cool piece of art to hang on my wall that will almost certainly rise in value over the next ten years.... how about the 'Save my soul' that went for £463 or the 'Harajuku' that went for £970 or 'Head' that went for £410. There's some spectacular bargains to be had out there.......

Certainly wasn't 3.5k - the canvas was only 10 grand! You really sure about that? I'm positive that We Come in Peace and the others from the same series retailed at Laz for £4.000 + vat. ($8,000+ at the time) Very unfortunate for anyone who got sucked up into the mania.
Good to you if it sold, but seriously £3k for a print by an artist such as Micallef is too high. Recent auction prices are fair. Or else you're better off saving your money for an original by Micallef or any number of well established artists.

Antony Micallef • 21st Century Love, by afroken on Dec 21, 2009 21:05:41 GMT 1, it wasn't from the same series. it was published by Eyestorm. They sat unsold for months and then Laz took him on and they sold out. £400 is about right. I bought a HFUNG and a Tokyo Girl from them for around the same price.

Once they had sold out, eyestorm had a few (kept by or from previous owners) and they were selling at 5k, i doubt anyone actually bought at that price.
IMO you will be lucky to get 2.5. If it was mine i wouldnt sell, u wont make what u spent.

Antony Micallef • 21st Century Love, by Poppy Sunshine on Jan 16, 2010 17:17:41 GMT 1, I may sell / Trade my Micallef 21st Century Love.
I am either looking for offers of cash or Banksy trades only on this so please don't offer anything else.
Also, please don't ask what I want for it as I am simply looking for the best deal so feel free to name your own price or offer up the swaps you consider it to be worth trading for.
It is currently framed but I would prefer to sell it unframed. This may change depending on offers.
It is of course perfect and with full cast iron prov.
Thanks.
