Antony Micallef • 21st Century Love, by manty on May 8, 2010 18:32:16 GMT 1, Thanks for the PMs
Sorry I haven't been able to respond yet (pretty mad day)
I am honestly not sure on the value on '21CL' I think a couple were sold recently, but haven't had time to check, if anyone knows what they went for please fire away, same as above with the 'We come in Peace'
I've had quite a few Pms asking how much I want separately and for both.
I wont bite if you want to fire me some offers (I may laugh though if they are too cheeky)
I'll answer all Pms tomorrow if thats ok, as tonight I am hitting the Grog in a big way
Thanks for the PMs

Surely some people can accumulate such knowledge without the help of this messageboard?
I've noticed the low prices/non-sales on Ebay too and being a big Mic fan, would be similarly interested to know what the going rate would be... it's not as if the gallery prices that google throws up reflect the current market is it?

At the Dreweatts urban contemporary auction on 13 Oct, a We Come in Peace sold for £650, a Bomber Girl for £750 and a Minotaur Weapon for £650 (all prices not including buyers premium + VAT, so you need to add about 30% to get what the buyer actually paid) so that gives some kind of indication.

Antony Micallef • 21st Century Love, by Mister Frame Man on Nov 23, 2010 17:46:51 GMT 1, I really can't see what's wrong with my post? Did not know there was a specific entrance code? anyway thank you so much jaymajik I knew Micallef prices were low, but I thought maybe the Minotuar Weapon I saw on the bay could have been a one off, interesting, so I suppose that would make 21st Century Love somewhere between 1 and 1.5k, now, anyone got one for sale or trade?
I totally disagree, one of his finest works must be worth 6-7k right now! (cash) Particularly if framed to museum standard and a very low number from the edition!

It would be interesting to see if anyone would let theirs go for under £1.5k.
I would think (hope) higher than that, but ........... who the fuck knows anymore, all this doom and gloom shit
Lovely print

Low numbers are unlucky, best number to get is 66 which just happens to be mine I do agree with your estimate though

A Bomber Girl for £750, I missed that one!! 21C has to be AM's most iconic prints, it actually took a while for them to clear from Eyestorm even at the initial price. At the time it was the only one I never owned as it was a whopping £600, that was when they had doubled the price too!! At the crazy stage it went to £5k but it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. That said I don't think it has the impact of MWIH.
It's not a good time to sell anything anyway, the people that bought AM's work just to flip got stung on the Prints which was very funny to watch.
MRFRAMEMAN Hope all is well, why do you think "very low number from the edition" is any more valuable than the others? yes number 1 as this is normally the artists copy but the others? I know some say the print quality is sometimes better with screens but I don't think that is always the case.

If they ever did go that low I'd hang one in every room. Mics absolute best.

I would have a bet with you on the £1500 point you made, but i'd be too depressed when I won

All good thank you - I don't really think that the low numbers are worth more, just that mine is and if I was offered the 6-7k I would be tempted to part with the first big buy that I ever made. I paid £750 for mine from Eyestorm which at the time really troubled me!

Antony Micallef • 21st Century Love, by butteronehalfcab on Nov 25, 2010 9:36:01 GMT 1, late entrance to the debate but surely a little research from anyone wanting to buy art gives you a decent range of prices. 21st century love is up on auction saboteur for five grand so there's your absolute upper limit there. Anyone who goes out and spends 6-7 grand on one will have done so rather un-neccessarily. It's always gonna be a case with whatever you want to sell there is what it is worth (what you want) and at what price it will attract a quick a serious buyer. A good example being the Nola on ebay that was linked through the forum.
